Injury Biomechanics Expert

Injury of the human body occurs when a force applied to an anatomical structure surpasses the failure limits of that structure. The science of injury biomechanics relates the forces of a traumatic event to the tolerance level of the anatomical structure. How is this done? Based on the laws of physics and thorough knowledge of the musculoskeletal system, the injury biomechanics expert applies engineering principles to investigate the interaction between the forces acting on the body, the motion of the body and the deformation or failure of the body segment.

Goals include determining if the forces exceeded the tolerance level of the anatomical structure to produce the injury claimed, if the injury pattern is consistent with the accident as described, what the injury pattern reveals about the cause of the injury and if a product was defective.

Both engineering and medical foundations are necessary for understanding human injury from a biomechanical perspective.

Dr. Draganich has nearly 30 years of academic experience in engineering and orthopedic research. His fund of knowledge and experience provide him with the biomechanical foundation and perspective necessary for understanding the mechanical factors important to injuries of the head, neck, back and extremities.

Dr. Draganich has the analytical skills and research experience you want when you need to know what happened.
